Sri Aurobindo Society Ulsoor Bhavan Centre, Bengaluru, Karnataka in collaboration with BhāratShakti, Sri Aurobindo Society, is organising a series of talks for its community members which will be facilitated by Ms. Chitra Kolluru, one of BhāratShakti facilitators based in Bengaluru. This series of talks will cover the Twelves Soul Qualities from the Mother’s Symbol.
Following the first talk on Equality which took place on June 28, 2026, the second one in the series on ‘Sincerity’ was organised on August 2. 2026. This session was conducted on a hybrid mode which allowed several participants to join online, while many attended the session in person at Ulsoor Bhavan.
After invoking the Divine Mother’s presence through a Vedic hymn, Ms. Chitra Kolluru briefly summarized the twelves soul qualities in the Mother’s symbol and set the context, building from the previous session.
The discussion on the soul quality of Sincerity was almost entirely based on insights from several of the Mother’s conversations and writings, as well as from Sri Aurobindo’s ‘Letters on Yoga’. Ms. Kolluru further expounded on certain deeper concepts of ‘Inner Truth’ and ‘Characteristics of the Mind’ from selected insights from Sri Aurobindo’s ‘The Life Divine’.
Ms. Kolluru started by quoting the Mother and pointed out that Sincerity as a soul quality is meant to be directed to the Divine with a constant effort to be turned to and accept only Divine impulses, by aligning with one’s inmost Truth, which is dynamic based on the growth of one’s consciousness driven by the Psychic – Divine’s delegate in an individual.
She went on to distinguish a human or a mental notion of sincerity from sincerity to the Divine based on truth, in terms of the efficacy for outcome in the world, as well as consistency and reliability of the attribute itself in an individual or a collective.
Ms. Kolluru closed by bringing in an important topic of ‘sincerity in relationships’ by highlighting that relationships are treated as financial investments in today’s world where investing in them for a future encashment or safeguarding them for fear of losing, seems to be the popular notion. Instead, one’s approach towards relationships must be how we are advised by the Mother to treat work – as a field of self-development and improvement and an opportunity to offer ourselves for a collective good.
The presentation ended with a beautiful video curated by Art Studios on Sincerity with a voiceover of the Mother’s words in an artist’s voice.
There were some engaging discussions following the speaker’s presentation. Questions such as – what must we pray to: the form or the formless; and how do we understand the will of God in our lives – led to interesting explorations, making the session go overtime.
