As part of the ongoing exploration of ‘Sri Aurobindo and the World of Literature‘ in Renaissance journal, BhāratShakti, Sri Aurobindo Society will organise a 4-day webinar series titled ‘Studies in Sri Aurobindo’s Ilion‘ in the month of December 2026.
About Ilion
Ilion is the longest epic poem of Sri Aurobindo after Savitri, and has the Trojan war as its theme and describes the events of the last day of Troy’s existence before it is destroyed by the Greeks.
In Ilion, Sri Aurobindo brings the gods, heroes and peoples of the ancient world into a vast dramatic vision and canvas of history, war, heroism, love, patriotism, fate, duty, leadership etc. Beneath the story of Troy lies Sri Aurobindo’s deeper exploration of the forces that shape the rise and fall of nations.
Join us in this brief study of Ilion where two facilitators will present selected insights from the epic followed by an interactive session.
