This year the programme’s theme is Know India which will be explored through a variety of engaging learning activities over a period of two weeks. Students ages 10-18 will participate in the workshop, group size will be kept small to ensure deeper learner engagement with the topics being explored.

Following topics will be explored as part of the larger theme

  • India that is Bhārat – One and Many?
  • My Responsibility as an Indian
  • Temple Trails for Civilisational Understanding
  • Sri Aurobindo’s Message for Students
  • Vedic Wisdom through Storytelling and Painting
  • My Dream for New India

Ongoing planning work for the workshop includes developing and designing a range of age-appropriate learning activities for different groups of students. These activities shall include: storytelling sessions, visually appealing presentations and video content for interactive sessions, chanting sessions, crafts activities, practice sessions, poster exhibitions, cultural activities, and more.

Dr. Beloo Mehra, Directror, BhāratShakti will be lead designer and facilitator for the workshop sessions. Ms. Vani L., a volunteer resource person for BhāratShakti will be facilitating the painting workshops for the students. The teachers and administrators at Creative School are assisting with the daily scheduling of the sessions.

As part of the workshop content, Dr. Mehra is also preparing four detailed exhibitions under the theme of Bhārat Yatra. The purpose of these exhibitions which focus on several temples of Karnataka is to help students develop a nuanced understanding of Indian history and culture through India’s art and architecture.

These exhibitions will be used for an integrated learning project being developed by the Creative School under which students will also be visiting these places. See HERE and HERE for how this has been done over the last couple of years.
