Date: April 29, 2022
Venue: Sri Aurobindo Society
On April 29, 2022, a group of 38 university students and research scholars visited Sri Aurobindo Society for a 2-hour orientation programme. The group included M.Ed. students from School of Education, Pondicherry University and from NIEPMD (National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities). The visit was planned by BhāratShakti.
With the theme, ‘Introduction to Sri Aurobindo’, the interactive learning programme included a detailed walkthrough of BhāratShakti poster-exhibition titled ‘Sri Aurobindo and India’s Freedom’ with the students.
After a brief meditation the programme began with Dr. Beloo Mehra giving a brief introduction to the exhibition highlighting the Yogi-revolutionary aspect of Sri Aurobindo. Some interesting questions were asked by the students.
For the next 40 minutes the group walked through the exhibition, with Dr. Mehra pointing out some key points from some of the posters. Interesting anecdotes about the Indian freedom movement, especially concerning the work of revolutionaries also came up during the interactions.
After the tea break, the students had an interactive session with Mr. Shivakumar of AuroYouth on the theme – Sri Aurobindo and the Youth of India. A brief introduction to Integral Education was also given to the students by Mr. Shivakumar and Dr. Beloo Mehra.
Dr. K. Chellamani, Dean, School of Education and a few faculty members also accompanied the group. The programme was highly appreciated by all the participants.
