A Note from Vijaybhai
With Mother’s Blessings, we launch our new BI-ANNUAL PUBLICATION – The Best of Sri Aurobindo Circle.
Sri Aurobindo Circle was started with the Mother’s blessings from Bombay in 1945. The Mother gave its name and wrote it in Her own handwriting which it carried right through. It contained rare articles on all topics from senior members of the Ashram and the devotees. Its publication was discontinued in 1998. We thought it might be interesting and useful to re-print selected articles as the best of Sri Aurobindo Circle twice a year, on August 1 and February 1.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The first issue of The Best of Sri Aurobindo Circle features a remarkable article by Dr. Prema Nandkumar which was first published in the 1984 issue of Sri Aurobindo Circle. In a systematic manner, she discusses Sri Aurobindo’s interpretation of Rāmāyana as a significant work that expressed the noblest aspects of Indian culture and went on to become one of the most loved and enduring literary composition to shape the Indian national mind. We hope you will enjoy reading through this first issue as much as we have enjoyed working on it.
