The BhāratShakti team will be conducting a day-long workshop for about 60 students of ages 14 to 16 who are enrolled at Om Shanti Dham Gurukulam. The theme of the workshop is – Sri Aurobindo and Indian Freedom Movement. This workshop is designed to give students an overview of the key ideals and ideas which were at heart of Sri Aurobindo’s phenomenal revolutionary work during his political life from 1893 to 1910. These include:
- The Indian view of Nation
- India’s Swaraj for the future of humanity
- Why was Sri Aurobindo considered “the most dangerous man” by the British Empire?
- What is Spiritual Nationalism?
- The role of Sri Aurobindo’s mighty pen in awakening the nation
- Sri Aurobindo’s transformative experience in the prison
- Key insights from Uttarpara speech
Such deep topics will be addressed through a variety of activities including exploratory interactions, exhibition, film, creative writing exercises and small group activities.

The facilitators team will include: Dr. Beloo Mehra, Mr. Narendra Murty, and Ms. Biswajita Mohapatra. Teachers and other administrative staff from the Gurukulam will also help with the arrangements at the workshop venue.
