Self-management Lessons from the Gita – Online Course

Start Date:   28 February 2026

End Date:     28 March 2026

Venue:      Online

The Bhagavad Gita is the greatest “self-management manual” in the world. It is the “Krishna cure” for the “Arjuna disease.” We too suffer from the “Arjuna disease” when we feel paralyzed and overwhelmed by the challenges of our lives. Managing ourselves comes before we can think of managing others and the situations of the external world. And when our own knowledge and inner resources prove inadequate, we turn to the Divine guidance of Sri Krishna.

Join us on this 5-week journey as we concentrate on some of the Gita’s carefully chosen exquisite verses that help us learn the art and science of living.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

In the battle of Kurukshetra, Arjuna, seeing the stupendous challenge before him, gets an attack of nerves and begins to talk about the merits of renunciation and non-violence. The magnitude of the task at hand completely overwhelms him and he throws down his quiver and bow and refuses to fight. It is then that the divine charioteer Krishna gives one of the greatest teachings in the world, the Bhagavad Gita (the song of God).

Nowhere in the world has a philosophical teaching been given out on a battlefield. It is to show that a philosophy that is detached from the heat and dust of the battlefield of life, is useless. Hence, the Gita is an instruction manual on how to live a meaningful life.

In this course, we will focus on selected verses from the Bhagavad Gita and through an interactive approach identify some practical lessons which can help us manage our emotional and mental selves more effectively in the light of deeper spiritual wisdom.
