Venue: Om Shanti Dham Gurukulam, Sangama – Mekedatu, Karnataka
The BhāratShakti team will be conducting a day-long workshop for 65-70 students of ages 12 to 16 who are enrolled at Om Shanti Dham Gurukulam. The theme of the workshop is – Our Culture, Our Pride. This workshop is designed with a special aim of gently introducing the teenagers to certain important topics related to how we as Indians connect with the richness and diversity of Indian culture. These include:
- What is culture? And why should I care about it?
- Is India One Culture or Many?
- Is culture static or dynamic?
- What is India’s role in the world?
- What is my responsibility as an Indian?
Such deep questions will be addressed through a variety of activities including exploratory interactions, experiential activities, storytelling, games, exhibition, and dance.
The facilitators team will include: Dr. Beloo Mehra, Mr. Narendra Murty, Ms. Biswajita Mohapatra and Dr. Runalika Roy. Teachers and other administrative staff from the Gurukulam will also help with the arrangements at the workshop venue.
